About Youth & Youth Missions Ministry Team


Equipping Staff Person:  Rev. K.C. Van Atta-Casebier
Team Meeting Dates/Times:  Sundays, 12:30pm-2:00pm, every six to eight weeks
Youth Group Meeting Dates/Times:  every Sunday, 10:10am-11:05am 
Monthly Time Commitment:  4-20 hours (varies depending on role)
 
The Youth Ministry and Missions Team includes youth parents, Sunday morning youth class teachers and other adults interested in working with youth in grades 6 through 12.  The team helps to set priorities and vision for Foundry’s youth ministry, and seeks to provide a loving, respectful community for our youth that leads, supports and inspires our youth on their Christian faith journeys through consistent opportunities for fellowship, worship, spiritual development and service to others. 
 
Servant leaders are needed to help:
  •  teach Sunday morning class on a regular basis or as a substitute
  •  develop, plan, organize and publicize regular youth fellowship and mission activities 
  • chaperone various youth fellowship and mission activities
  • work with designated youth to recruit, train and schedule acolytes, scripture readers and communion servers
  • design and implement a program for youth participation in music at Foundry, including recruiting youth, choosing music, rehearsing, directing, accompanying and scheduling participation in the worship services for the youth choir and any other Foundry youth musical groups
  • coordinate youth participation in extended mission activities, including but not limited the high school youth’s annual summer participation in the
Appalachia Service Project
