About Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is a servant leadership team at Foundry United Methodist Church that, alongside the Creative Worship Ministries Team, Worship Servant Leader Team, and Worship Staff help to create, plan, and execute worship which helps “deepen faith through transcendent worship.” Specifically, the Altar guild assists with:

The seasonal adornment of the sanctuary and other worship spaces.
Managing worship implements (candles, chalices, altar visuals), and keeping a detailed inventory of Foundry’s worship supplies.
Identifying, as necessary, need for new worship items and repair to existing worship items.

The Team Coordinators work with the staff to set a schedule for the above work. Additionally, they participate quarterly with other staff and servant leaders in the Worship Ministries Area to plan for worship in the coming quarter.

In addition to work, the fellowship and camaraderie of the Altar Visual team is a great way to see "behind the scenes" at Foundry Church, exercise your creative side, and get to know other people passionate about worship. For more information, email altarguild@foundryumc.org.
